Since the Aadhar program launched in 2010, 6.6 crore of the 11.23 crore population in Maharashtra have received their Aadhar card. "We have geared up our entire machinery. Besides 4,000 machines in operation, the state government is in the process of procuring 2,000 more machines. We will be able to provide the cards to maximum people before March 31, 2014," Ajay Bhushan Pandey, deputy director general, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that any residents of India who applied for an Aadhar card prior to April 1, 2012 should re-enroll. This statement comes after hundreds, possibly thousands of residents have been waiting well over a year to receive their Aadhar cards.
VANDODARA: An honest citizen has come forward to expose another scam surrounding the Aadhar card. Indravadan Rathod, a resident of the Tarsali area, did the right thing by surprising a ward office of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), handling Aadhar registrations, with a team of media personnel and described how he was told he could bypass the usual wait time and registration process if he paid extra money.
